Accessibility Statement

SKLD Information Services is committed to making SKLDoc usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by Americans with Disabilities Act guidance for websites and web applications.

Measures we take include descriptive page titles and headings, landmarks and a skip link on every page, keyboard-operable menus, forms and viewer controls, visible focus indicators, sufficient color contrast, text alternatives for images and icons, labels on every form control, no automatic page changes when a selection is made, and respect for the reduced-motion preference in your operating system.

Known limitations

  • The documents, maps and tub cards provided by this application are scanned images of historical land records. They contain no machine-readable text, so screen readers cannot read their content in the viewer. The same files can be downloaded or emailed from the History tab for use with other tools, and our support staff can help locate information in a specific record.
  • Some statistics tables are wide and scroll horizontally on small screens.

How we test

We run automated accessibility checks (axe-core) against the sign-in page, public pages and the core document workflows on each release, and we verify by hand that those workflows can be completed with the keyboard alone.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier in SKLDoc, or need any content in another format, please tell us. We respond to accessibility requests within two business days.
